Clear terms for a personal financial recordkeeping service.
These baseline terms describe the standard Personal Ledger service at personal-ledger.co. They should be reviewed for the operator's jurisdiction before commercial launch.

1. Purpose
Personal Ledger is software for organizing personal financial records, including accounts, transactions, budgets, recurring items, reconciliation and reports.
2. Free trial and pricing
Eligible new customer accounts receive one month of access without providing a credit card during signup. The standard monthly price after the trial is $12.99. In this release, access after trial is activated by the administrator after payment is verified or when complimentary access is granted.
3. No automatic card billing in this release
The standard package does not collect a credit card at signup and does not automatically charge a card when the trial ends. If manual payment instructions are configured, customers are responsible for following those instructions and submitting an accurate payment reference. Access may remain restricted until payment is verified.
4. No financial services or advice
Personal Ledger is not a bank, broker, lender, payment processor, accountant, tax adviser or financial adviser. Information in the software is based on records entered or imported by the user and should be independently verified for important decisions.
5. Accuracy of records
Users are responsible for reviewing imported and manually entered transactions, balances, categories, reconciliation results, budgets and reports.
6. Account security
Users must protect their credentials. The operator is responsible for securing the hosting account, database, email configuration, backups and server environment.
7. Availability and suspension
Service availability depends on hosting and other infrastructure. Accounts may be restricted when a trial or paid-access period expires, or suspended for security, abuse or administrative reasons.
8. Backups
Appropriate independent backups should be maintained. The application's JSON export is useful for portability but should not be the sole production backup.
9. Uploaded content
Only upload documents you are authorized to store. Do not use the application for unlawful content or information belonging to others without appropriate permission.
10. Changes
Features, pricing and these terms may change prospectively. Material commercial changes should be communicated appropriately to affected users.
